CHALLENGE
Faced the task of creating realistic and engaging photographs of Subaru’s concept vehicles for a microsite before the 1:1 scale prototypes were available. The challenge involved rendering these entirely CGI cars in real-world settings convincingly, with an emphasis on authenticity.
STRATEGY
To save costs and ensure security, combined traditional photography with advanced 3D technology. Worked closely with Subaru’s chief designer and design team to accurately represent the concept vehicles in 3D CGI. Photographed the location backgrounds (backplates) and captured 360-degree HDRI domes to seamlessly integrate the CGI vehicles into real-world scenes.
EXECUTION
Collaborated with Subaru’s chief designer and design team to ensure precise 3D CGI representations of the concept vehicles. At carefully selected exotic locations, captured detailed backplates and HDRI domes. Using this data, rendered the concept vehicles with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring they appeared both realistic and fully integrated into their environments. The final step involved seamlessly compositing the CGI vehicles into the photographed backgrounds, resulting in visually striking and realistic images. These images were then featured on the microsite to highlight Subaru’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and cutting-edge design.
